ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Spiro Dongaris

Spiro Dongaris’ experience includes a combination of industrial hygiene, environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase IIs), remediation design, and remediation and abatement projects. Mr. Dongaris has a comprehensive knowledge of the hazards associated with and the controls needed for, a wide spectrum of hazardous materials and processes. Mr. Dongaris has developed and overseen various environmental health and safety projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. As the president of Athenica Environmental Services, Inc., he is responsible for the overall quality of work for the firm and acts as the primary client contact for the firm’s projects. Since the inception of Athenica, Mr. Dongaris has managed the firm’s asbestos and lead management departments. His areas of expertise include industrial hygiene surveys and audits, indoor air quality investigations, mold and bacteria studies, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs), Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (Phase II ESAs), underground storage tank (UST) management and remediation, and soil and groundwater remediation. Mr. Dongaris also has extensive experience in cost estimating and bid negotiating, and oversees all aspects of the firm’s work in these areas. Mr. Dongaris has attained a Masters in Environmental Engineering.


CERTIFIED INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST
Joseph Sbarra

Joseph Sbarra has twenty-two years of comprehensive occupational health and safety experience for private industry, consulting, and government. Mr. Sbarra has managed and conducted audits of comprehensive health and safety programs, construction sites, and hazardous waste sites. He has supervised project environmental health and safety staff, performed industrial hygiene surveys involving asbestos, lead, heat stress, indoor air quality, metals, noise, silica dust, and volatile organic compounds. In addition, he has conducted health and safety programs for construction safety, air monitoring, asbestos, lead, hazardous waste, and respiratory protection.


ENVIRONMENTAL SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER/ PROFESSIONAL GEOLOGIST
William Silveri

William Silveri’s experience includes Phase I environmental site assessments (Phase I ESAs), comprehensive remedial investigations, industrial hygiene related work, and remediation projects oversight. He has participated or managed comprehensive remedial investigations at inactive hazardous waste or Brownfield properties. He has prepared and overseen the implementation of detailed work plans for the investigation of inactive hazardous waste sites in New York and New Jersey. Mr. Silveri has also participated in and has prepared and reviewed detailed demolition specifications that addressed potential hazardous building materials, including PCBs, lead-based paint, mercury, and asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). Preparation of the specifications included conducting surveys of buildings to identify and quantify the potential hazardous building materials within structures to be demolished.


TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Nahum Kedem

Mr. Kedem has over 20 years of experience in environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering and consulting.  His experience includes sales, client interaction, management, operations, technical review, QA/QC and performance of environmental and geotechnical consulting services including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment, subsurface investigations, remedial investigations, remedial alternative analysis and design, petroleum storage tank management, compliance, closure and system design and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) surveys.

He has participated in, managed, reviewed and prepared proposals, protocols, specifications, and reports for thousands of projects in the areas of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment, remedial investigation/feasibility study for soil and groundwater remediation; geophysical investigation; site assessment, management, closure, compliance, upgrading and new system design for petroleum storage tank sites and NEPA surveys.

His experience also includes civil engineering design, project management, supervision and inspection of all phases of industrial, commercial and residential construction. 

Mr. Kedem is a leading expert in two areas: 1) environmental due diligence – he participated in the regulatory negotiations with the USEPA in developing the All Appropriate Inquiry requirements and subsequently in the development of the resulting ASTM E 1527-05 Standard; 2) NEPA including SHPO studies for cellular sites – he participated in the development of the National Programmatic Agreement (NPA) and continue to contribute the FCC with real-life knowledge in preparation to the anticipated revisions to the NPA. 


CERTIFIED SAFETY PROFFESIONAL
John Brandquist

John Brandquist has over twenty years of professional experience in the asbestos, lead paint and mold industry. He has successfully managed multi-million dollar projects, coordinating trades, developing partnership and establishing a productive work relationship amongst construction managers, project officers, architects, consultants, owners and clients while maintaining costs. He is also well versed in contract negotiations, cost estimating, document preparation, building code and regulatory requirements, and site and safety management. Mr. Brandquist is a New York City Buildings Department certified Safety Manager, a New York State workplace safety certification, and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.


SAFETY TRAINER
Fred Roca

Fred Roca has extensive experience and knowledge in the safety management of construction industry. He has overseen from the safety aspect, the construction management of many large scale projects and is trained by OSHA to provide such expertise. He regularly provides necessary training for construction industry and has done so for companies who work for clients such as the New York School Construction Authority.


PROJECT MANAGER
Albert Sikorski

Albert Sikorski has over ten (10) years of experience in the environmental services industry, has supervised and participated in a wide range of industrial hygiene/environmental hazard investigations, project design and remediation/abatement projects. He is responsible for reviewing building survey data, creating a scope of work, developing budgetary cost estimates and designing complete asbestos remediation. Additionally, he coordinates multiphase abatement projects, oversees remediation and inspects work sites, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements. Mr. Sikorski also serves as the on-site principal contact, interfacing directly with the client’s representative and the removal contractor. His responsibilities include abatement contractor coordinator for projects, assignments of tasks to field staff during projects and assuring regulatory compliance on job sites.


PROJECT MANAGER
Arthur Martirossian

Arthur Martirossian has over eleven (11) years experience in the environmental services industry, has supervised and participated in a wide range of industrial hygiene/environmental hazard investigations, project design and remediation/abatement projects. He is responsible for reviewing building survey data, creating a scope of work, developing budgetary cost estimates and designing complete asbestos remediation. Additionally he coordinates multiphase abatement projects, oversees remediation and inspects work sites, ensuring compliance with applicable laws requirements.
Mr. Martirossian also serves as the on-site principal contact, interfacing directly with the client’s representative and the removal contractor. His responsibilities include abatement contractor coordinator for projects, assignments of tasks to field staff during projects and assuring regulatory compliance on job sites.


PROJECT MANAGER QA/QC
Ruslan Kleyner

Ruslan Kleyner assists the Director of Operations in account management of company's various environmental consulting contracts. He schedules and coordinates the activities of various field technicians to assigned projects. He also performs quality control and quality assurance of various environmental reports prior to submittal to clients. Mr. Kleyner assists in general safety issues and coordinates environmental consultant and environmental abatement contractor activities. He also oversees billing and invoice activities of projects so that they are submitted in a timely fashion, and he reviews final billing and invoices prior to submittal to various clients.

 

HAZMAT / INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE PROJECT MANAGER
Jeffrey Strykowski

Jeffrey Strykowski’s experience includes a combination of environmental site assessments and industrial hygiene.  He implements field activities for a wide spectrum of environmental projects, coordinating with clients and subcontractors in the process. He performs testing during site investigations and is responsible for the review and analysis of the resulting data. Mr. Strykowski has also participated in the management of multi-million dollar hazardous waste site remediation projects.

 

HAZMAT / INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE PROJECT MANAGER
Juraj Bardiovsky’s

Juraj Bardiovsky’s experience includes over three (3) years experience in the environmental services industry, where he has participated in a wide range of industrial hygiene/environmental hazard investigations and remediation/abatement projects. His involvement in industrial various hygiene/environmental hazard projects from the beginning to completion has made him very experienced in management of complex projects. He has and continues to work on projects for municipal clients such as the New York City Housing Authority and the New York City School Construction Authority and private clients such as Columbia University and IBM. His role in Athenica is to supplement top management staff in managing projects throughout the NYC area.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGERS

In addition to the above management team, Athenica also employs five Assistant Project Managers for the purpose of managing the day to day projects. The Assistant Project Managers are responsible for the overall project design and management of every project. Each assistant manager is completely involved with the project from its inception until final completion and also functions as the field manager for each project.
